Briaroaks Fire Department

Make A Donation

The operating budget covers the bare minimum of what it costs to run a professional, efficient fire department and rescue squad. Our members do not receive any financial reimbursement for the time they donate for training, equipment and truck maintenance or responding to emergency calls. All of the operating budget is spent on the basics to run the department, such as fuel costs, electric and phone costs, equipment maintenance, personal protective equipment etc. Briaroaks Fire Department is a 501(c)(3) organization, which means your donations are tax deductible. We will send you a thank you with the deduction information for all donations.

Carbon Monoxide Is the Silent Killer
Carbon monoxide (CO) is colorless and odorless, making it impossible to detect without an alarm. Install CO detectors on every level of your home and near sleeping areas. Symptoms of CO poisoning include headache, dizziness, and nausea. If your CO alarm sounds, get everyone outside immediately and call 911.
Grease Fires and Water Do Not Mix
Never throw water on a grease fire — it will cause the burning oil to explode and spread the fire rapidly. Instead, turn off the heat source, carefully slide a lid over the pan to smother the flames, and leave it covered until it cools completely. If the fire is too large to control, evacuate and call 911.
