TEFRA Hearing for Lease-Purchase Agreement
The Briaroaks Fire Department is excited to announce that we are adding on to station 1 to provide sleeping quarters for our firefighters to more comfortably provide 24 hour coverage to our community. This addition will provide 4 double occupancy bunk rooms and an indoor workout area in a separate but attached building. To partially fund this purchase, we will be seeking financing through a Lease-Purchase agreement, the conditions of which are governed by TEFRA which requires a public hearing. The notice of public hearing is being posted in accordance with TEFRA rules and the hearing will be held on September 24, 2025 at 6pm at Station 1.Why do your fire trucks use lights and sirens, even in the middle of the night when there is no traffic?
The purpose of emergency warning equipment is to let drivers and pedestrians know that an emergency vehicle is on the way to an emergency. Texas state law as well as our standard operating procedures require that our drivers utilize emergency warning equipment during emergency response regardless of the time of day. We also encourage our drivers to use good judgment in determining whether emergency response is necessary in an effort to limit any inconvenience to the public.
