TEFRA Hearing for Lease-Purchase Agreement
The Briaroaks Fire Department is excited to announce that we are adding on to station 1 to provide sleeping quarters for our firefighters to more comfortably provide 24 hour coverage to our community. This addition will provide 4 double occupancy bunk rooms and an indoor workout area in a separate but attached building. To partially fund this purchase, we will be seeking financing through a Lease-Purchase agreement, the conditions of which are governed by TEFRA which requires a public hearing. The notice of public hearing is being posted in accordance with TEFRA rules and the hearing will be held on September 24, 2025 at 6pm at Station 1.How many smoke alarms do I need in my home?
One smoke alarm isn’t enough! You should have at least one smoke alarm in every bedroom and in the hallway outside each bedroom. A typical three-bedroom home would need at least four properly installed smoke alarms to provide a reasonable amount of protection for your family. Smoke rises, so the best place to install an alarm is on the ceiling or high on an inside wall approximately 6-8 inches below the ceiling.
Anytime your smoke alarm goes off, check your home thoroughly. If you see or smell smoke, immediately get out of your home and call 911. Ensure that other family members and pets are also evacuated from the home.
